Standard Life Wealth has appointed a new chief investment officer, and head of investments, for its onshore and offshore discretionary fund management business.
In statement earlier today, the discretionary business of the life company giant said that it has promoted John Hair, pictured above, to chief investment officer, and Julie-Ann Ashcroft, pictured below left, to head of investments, where she will work alongside Darren Ripton.
Reporting directly to Richard Charnock, chief executive at Standard Life Wealth, Hair will have responsibility for the overall performance of Standard Life Wealth’s investment portfolios, which have over £6.7bn assets under management, according to the latest company statistics and will form part of the leadership team based in London.
Alongside his duties as CIO, Hair will continue to manage portfolios for charities, private clients, trusts and pensions.
Ashcroft, pictured left, will report into Hair, and will assume overall responsibility for Standard Life Wealth’s Conventional portfolios, as well as managing The Balanced Bridge Fund, and the Standard Life Wealth Offshore Income Fund. Darren Ripton will continue in his role as head of investments, having responsibility for the oversight of Standard Life Wealth’s Target Return portfolios.
Both Hair and Ashcroft moved to Standard Life Wealth following the acquisition of Newton private client business in 2013.
Standard Life Wealth, with offices in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol and Leeds, and an offshore presence in the Channel Islands, provides both target return and conventional investment strategies for private clients, trust companies and charities.
