Paula Covey has been named chief marketing officer for health at Allianz Partners, the Paris-based international health business operation of Germany’s Allianz Group.
The role is a newly-created one, the company said. She is based in the company’s Dublin offices.
Covey comes to Allianz Partners from another arm of the Allianz Group, its Global Life & Health operation, where she was Head of Global Health, and based in Munich. Prior to joining the Allianz Group in 2016, she spent more than 13 years with BUPA. Altogether she has had more 30 years of experience in healthcare, 20 of which have been in the area of international health.
Her new role with Allianz Partners is a “dual one”, giving her responsibility for marketing the company’s international health business, as well as for “helping to achieve the group’s ambitious plans to grow health activities and services across all of its lines of business”, Allianz Partners said in a statement announcing her appointment.
As part of her new role, Covey has joined the global executive committee of Allianz’s international health business line, where she reports directly to Allianz Partners’ chief executive Ida Luka-Lognoné, and where she works closely with Matthias Wünsche, director of global market management and innovation at Allianz Partners.
As reported here last month, Allianz Partners is the new name for Allianz Worldwide Care, although its products continue to be marketed under the Allianz Care brand.
Allianz Partners is a part of the Allianz Group’s Allianz Worldwide Partners operation, which looks after more than 250 million beneficiaries in 34 countries. Formerly based in Dublin, Allianz Partners maintains an operational hub there but is now headquartered and regulated in Paris.
