RWC Partners’ Equity Income team has added James Kellett.
Kellett has joined the team – led by Ian Lance and Nick Purves – as a research analyst He was previously an investment analyst at Orbis Investment Advisory. He will work on a series of strategies including the RWC Global Emerging Markets fund, the Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS version of the strategy, the company said in a statement announcing the hire
The Equity Income team, which currently manages US$4.5bn for its clients, was established as part of he RWC Equity Income franchise in 2010 and employs a “conviction led, value-based stock selection process, combined with a technical approach to providing stabilising assets within its portfolios,” the company said.
The hire of Kellett, pictured left, follows on from the expansion of RWC’s investment capability. The group hired a 17-strong emerging markets team from Everest Capital in March 2015, headed up by John Malloy and James Johnstone. The team now manages US$2.2bn in total, with US$155m in the RWC Global Emerging Markets fund, the Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS version of the strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, Ian Lance said that RWC is keen to further expand the company’s investor base, particularly in the UK and European marketplace.
“We believe in the organic development of the people who join us and we look forward to James transitioning into the team and contributing to the evolution of our process.”
RWC Partners currently manages US$10.6bn (as at31.01.17) on behalf its clients.
