Mike Coady, the former managing director at deVere has joined rival firm Guardian Wealth Management with “immediate effect”.
GWM Group announced at their AGM earlier today, that the appointment of Mike Coady, pictured above, as their chief commercial officer was “immediate”. In his new role he is tasked with “driving the global expansion of the GWM Group” and to lead the company’s “fast track growth” plans.
As reported, it was revealed that Coady had left deVere last week, with his appointment to GWM kept under wraps until today’s AGM. In his new role at GWM, Coady will also target the opening of “additional regions, new brands and the development of further technology supported distribution channels,” the statement said.
Coady, who was at GWM rival firm deVere for 12 years, said that he was “very excited” about his new role.

Coady was one of the deVere Group’s best-known top executives and head of its various UK operations, until his recent departure. The company, which is said to be the largest internationally-focused, independent financial advisory firm, didn’t respond to requests for information on Coady’s departure. His LinkedIn profile shows that he left deVere at the end of November.
He began his career with deVere in the Gulf, but in recent years he has been based in the UK. There, since January of this year, one of his titles had been head of the company’s executive committee. He had also been managing director of deVere’s mortgages division, deVere Mortgages; managing director of deVere UK; and chairman of deVere’s UK Workplace Solutions operations.
He is also a qualified member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Personal Finance Society, according to the CII’s online database. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Directors, an accreditation he was awarded in July.
The GWM Group have been managing wealth and providing financial planning advice to individuals, families, trust funds, pension funds and limited companies since 1994, with offices in Geneva, Zurich, Dubai, Qatar, Hong Kong and most recently London.
