ALC Health, a UK-based international insurer acquired earlier this year by US-based International Medical Group (IMG), said it had named Colin Kirkpatrick managing director designate, to succeed Stephen Godbold, who is leaving the company. The positional will become permanent after a three-month transitional period, the company said.
ALC Health is the trading name of À La Carte Healthcare Ltd, which also has a Hong Kong subsidiary known as ALC Health (Hong Kong) Ltd. ALC Health’s parent, Indianapolis, Indiana-based IMG, is itself part of the Sirius Group.
ALC Health is headed up by chief executive Sarah Jewell, MBE.
During the three-month transition period and once in post in February, Kirkpatrick, pictured left, will be responsible for “maintaining high-quality service levels, driving operational efficiencies, and identifying ways to improve [profit and loss} and growth” at the company, IMG said in a statement announcing Kirkpatrick’s appointment.
Kirkpatrick comes to ALC Health from William Russell Ltd, where he was head of its inernational business development operations, and where he managing teams across the UK, Middle East and Far East regions.
In this role he was involved in “facilitating growth in key market segments and developing new business strategies to increase sales and brand awareness”, IMG said.
Prior to joining William Russell, Kirkpatrick founded a business called BrokerFish, to deliver international health insurance products to expatriates around the world. worldwide.
Kirkpatrick will be based at ALC’s head office in Steyning, England, and will work closely with Philip Wright, managing director of IMG’s European division, IMG said.
IMG announced its acquisition of ALC Health in March. The purchase price and other details of the acquisition weren’t given.
ALC Health is described as having clients in more than 140 countries. Headquartered in West Sussex, it also has offices in Marbella and Gibraltar, in addition to the Hong Kong subsidiary, which opened recently.
