HSBC Global Asset Management has enhanced its range of multi-asset products with the introduction of its new HSBC GIF Global Multi-Asset Income fund.

This launch is a response to continuing strong client demand for multi-asset products, the asset manager said.

The fund’s well diversified multi-asset investment approach is designed to help investors benefit from the opportunities global markets and different asset classes have to offer, while at the same time spreading investment risk.

The fund is relevant to retail investors of all generations, but is expected to appeal particularly to those already in or approaching retirement and who typically look for income generation to help support their needs.

Roberto Citarella, Managing Director at HSBC Global Asset Management – Italian Branch says: “This kind of income product is particularly attractive in Italian market.

After the launch of the HSBC GIF Global High Income Bond five years ago, which was recently rated 5 stars by Morningstar, the HSBC GIF Global Multi-Asset fund will complete our offer and satisfy the needs of Italian investors, who continue to search for income.”

HSBC Global Asset Management’s Jane Davies, lead fund manager says: “Demographic trends, continued low interest rates in developed regionsand volatile marketshave increased the demand for income-oriented multi-asset investment products. HSBC has proven expertise in managing multi- asset income funds. Since their launch our existing funds have delivered good-risk adjusted returns and generated a stable income stream.”

In addition to this fund, HSBC Global Asset Management has recently authorised in Italy another income fund: the HSBC GIF Managed Solutions – Asia Focused Income, launched in 2012 with more than $300m (€263.5bn) of asset under management (data as of 31st July 2015).

Citarella says: “Asia is a key focus for many of our clients, so we are delighted to be able to distribute this fund in Italy. This fund gives investors the option to invest and receive couponincome on a monthly basis.”

With these two new funds HSBC Global Asset Management will offer a range of three different income solutions to cover needs of Italian clients in search of income, benefiting from diversification and a set of different opportunities.
