Paris-headquartered Edmond de Rothschild AM has promoted Weiwei Li (pictured) to head of Chinese Equities. She is based in Hong Kong and replaces Xing Hu.
Li, who has 18 years of experience in financial industry, joined the group in 2011 as senior portfolio manager for Chinese equities. She is currently managing the funds Edmond de Rothschild China et Edmond de Rothschild Chinagora.
Previously, Li held the position of Asia analyst at Altima Partners LLP from 2007 to 2011 after working in London as a continental China manager for Pictet & Partners in London.
Prior moving in London, she has developed her expertise in China within several worldwide financial institutions such as ABN Amro and Invesco.
Philippe Uzan, head of Long Only Management at Edmond de Rothschild AM, said that the Chinese equities team will pursue the deployment of the firm’s expertise in Asia with the aim of “benefitting from the potential and the dynamism of the most important emerging economy.”
The Chinese equities team is including in the Global Emerging Markets and Commodities division led by Thomas Gerhardt and composed of 10 managers from six different nationalities.
Edmond de Rothschild AM has €49bn of assets under management as at 31 December 2014.
