Zedra, the trust, funds and corporate services specialist that was created earlier this year by the purchase of a majority stake of Barclays’ trust business by a group of investors, has named Stuart McLuckie managing director of its Geneva business.
McLuckie, pictured, is a well-known figure in Switzerland’s trust industry. He comes to Zedra from Rhone Trust and Fiduciary Services, Geneva – previously Banque Pictet’s trust company – where he was a director, and which he joined in October 2011.
At Zedra, McLuckie’s focus “will be on the day-to-day running of the office” as well as on developing and delivering the firm’s strategy and developing new business, Zedra said in a statement. It said he didn’t succeed anyone because the position is a new one.
Since it was created from Barclays in January, Zedra has been acquiring rival businesses in key markets, including, most recently, Amsterdam-based Allied Corporate Services. It now has offices in ten jurisdictions, and employs some 300 people, headed up by Zedra group chief executive Niels Nielsen.
