BMO Global Asset Management has launched the Irish-domiciled BMO LGM Global Emerging Markets Smaller Companies fund.
The fund is managed by LGM Investments, BMO Global Asset Management’s specialist emerging markets manager and will sit alongside the company’s existing range of Asian, emerging and frontier markets funds.
Irina Hunter is the lead portfolio manager with Claire Franklin being co-portfolio manager.
The BMO LGM Global Emerging Markets Smaller Companies fund aims to deliver long-term capital growth by investing in smaller companies established in, or deriving a significant amount of their income and profit from, emerging markets. The fund may also invest a portion of its assets in frontier markets, the company said in a statement announcing the launch.
“Emerging markets smaller companies are one of the few places left where one can achieve a genuine information advantage,” said Hunter, the fund’s lead portfolio manager.
“Simply speaking, the sector lacks research coverage and, as such, price discovery. As stock pickers, this gets us very excited and allows us to find fantastic businesses, achieving great things, which are simply not appreciated by the market…yet.”
The fund is available to institutional and advised retail investors and is registered for sale in the UK, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden.
The class F US$ accumulation shares have a minimum investment of US$1m and an estimated OCF of 0.81%.
