Schroders has named a new global head of wealth management to lead its wealth operations outside the UK.
Andrew Ross, the chief executive of the firm’s wealth management business Cazenove Capital Management, has been named to the role.
Ross will report to group head of wealth management Philip Mallinckrodt.
In April, the company also hired Caspar Rock as chief investment officer from Architas Multi Manager, Axa’s European retail multi manager. Rock will now report directly to Ross in his new role.
In March, Cazenove Capital Management was also announced a new global head of wealth management in Singapore. Simon Lints joins the company on June 6, and subject to regulatory approval, will also become chief executive officer for Schroder and Co Asia Ltd.
Credit Suisse appoints
Credit Suisse has also appointed a new head of global head of asset management with the appointment of Eric Varvel, effective from June 1. Varvel will succeed Bob Jain and join the international wealth Management branch. He will report to Iqbal Khan, chief executive for international wealth management.
Varvel will be based in New York but, the firm said, that he will travel frequently to Switzerland and the emerging markets with the aim of increasing the asset management arm’s global presence. He will also will be responsible for developing the group’s alternative investment franchise.
