Dave Clark, who has been MD of Grant Thornton’s Guernsey operation and its predecessor firms for the past 15 years, is stepping down.
Clark, who has been with the firm since 1988, will remain a director of the business, Grant Thornton said in a statement on Tuesday. It said he will concentrate on building up the firm’s local Guernsey and Jersey businesses.
He is being succeeded in the role by Adam Budworth, who is based in the company’s Jersey offices, with Cyril Swale becoming the new head of the Guernsey branch, Grant Thornton said.
Budworth said his predecessor would be a “hard act to follow” and said that he hoped that the business would continue to grow under his leadership, as it had for the past seven years under Clark’s. “I take over with the firm in good shape, and I look forward to building on the success enjoyed in the past,” he said.
Clark said he had “thoroughly enjoyed” his time as MD and that it was “extremely satisfying” to see how it and its people had developed over the years.
