Schroders has appointed a new head of multi-asset product, for the North Asia region.
Jason Yu joins Schroders this month, reporting to Garth Taljard, head of multi-asset management.
Based in Hong Kong, he will focus growing the Schroders’ multi-asset business in North Asia. His responsibilities include Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan markets, working with both institutional and intermediary clients, the company said in a statement announcing the appointment.
The Asia product team also collaborates closely with the company’s global multi-asset product and portfolio management teams
Yu joins Schroders from Standard Life Investments, Hong Kong, where he was investment director in multi-asset for Asia Pacific. He brings with him over 13 years of experience in finance, including roles at Wellington Management, Wells Fargo and Barclays Capital and has worked across Asia and the US.
Garth Taljard, head of multi-asset management at Schroders, said that company has seen a “continued and growing demand” from investors in Asia for multi-asset solutions.
“With markets looking increasingly expensive, and the prospect of rising volatility, investors are looking for strong asset allocation and risk management,” he said.
Schroders’ Multi-asset business has over US$82bn of assets under management, employing more than 85 professionals globally, according to company statistics, as at 31 March 2017.
