Quilter
Quilter has appointed John Gill to the board of Quilter Plc’s UK platform business, Old Mutual Wealth, as a non-executive director.

Gill joins Quilter from Standard Life where he was UK & Europe chief risk officer, a role he left in 2017. He joined Standard Life in 1986 and during the 31 years he spent at the life savings company fulfilled a number of different roles including managing director of finance, managing director of customers operations and chief executive of Standard Life Bank.

Carey Olsen
Carey Olsen Bermuda, the offshore law firm, has announced Kyle Masters has been appointed senior associate in its litigation team.

He will join Carey Olsen Bermuda after two years at Digicel Group, most recently as head of strategy and regulatory. Prior to that, he worked for both the Bermuda Monetary Authority and the Regulatory Authority of Bermuda.

Mediolanum Asset Management
Mediolanum Asset Management (MAML), the Irish asset management company of the Mediolanum Banking Group, announced the appointments of Astrid Schilo as Multi Asset Strategist and Inma Conde as Head of Manager Research, in Dublin.

A German native, Astrid has 15 years’ experience of financial markets research and forecasting policy. Inma Conde joins from Minnesota Philanthropy Partner, one of the largest community foundations in the US – where she held the position of Director of Investments.

Transparency Task Force
The Transparency Task Force (‘TTF’) has announced that John Howard, former chair of the Financial Conduct Authority’s Financial Services Consumer Panel is to become the Founding Chair of the Transparency Task Force’s new Advisory Board.

The Transparency Task Force (‘TTF’) is the collaborative, campaigning community, dedicated to driving up the levels of transparency in financial services, right around the world. It currently has 39 ambassadors and over 300 volunteer members from across the UK and global financial services sector.

Tilney
Tilney  has hired former Royal London chief operating officer Andy Grant as its head of financial planning division as it eyes fresh acquisitions.

Grant’s experience includes  UBS, consultancy firm Accenture and insurance company Amlin. However this is the first time he was worked at a financial planning business. As head of financial planning Grant will be in charge of 208 financial planners across 30 offices.

Old Mutual Global Investors
Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) has appointed Martin Visairas as managing director, institutional. Visairas will join the business in late August and report into Warren Tonkinson, managing director, distribution.

Visairas, who previously worked at Old Mutual Asset Managers from April 2009 to November 2010, will be responsible for servicing OMGI’s growing institutional client base, as well as expanding the business’s presence in the space by targeting new clients from major financial institutions, private banks and pension funds.
