Asia Securities
Asia Securities announced the appointment of Avancka Herat as head of wealth management. He will also assume the role of chief executive of the firm’s wealth management affiliate.

Herat joins the firm from National Asset Management Ltd. (NAMAL) where he served as executive director and chief executive. NAMAL is a provider of unit trusts and individual portfolio management services across equity and fixed income instruments.

Tilney
Tilney, the UK wealth management group, has appointed Andrew Baddeley as group chief financial officer.

Prior to Tilney, Baddeley  (pictured) served as group CFO of TP ICAP plc, the London Stock Exchange listed inter-dealer broker, where he drove Tullett Prebon’s £1.4bn acquisition of the voice broking business of ICAP in December 2016 and led the planning and initial integration project.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and spent more than 10 years with PwC and Ernst & Young. Chris Woodhouse, chief executive of Tilney, said: “Andrew is a highly accomplished CFO with considerable financial services and capital markets experience.

REYL & Cie
Swiss private bank REYL & Cie has expanded its partners’ group with the appointment of Pasha Bakhtiar, currently in charge of REYL Finance (MEA) Ltd, REYL & Cie’s affiliate in the United Arab Emirates. He has experience in the fields of wealth management, asset management and private equity.

Bakhtiar began his career with Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch in Geneva before moving to Dubai to participate in the launch of LODH’s operations in the UAE where he has spent the last 13 years.

Brown Shipley
Brown Shipley’s recently appointed chief executive Alan Mathewson has tapped his old firm to hire Toby Vaughan as chief investment officer.

Mathewson joined from Santander UK earlier this year. Vaughan currently works as head of the multi-strategy team Santander Asset Management. He will start at Brown Shipley in October.

Coutts
Coutts private bank director Hassan Suffyan has quit to lead the wealth practice of IT consultancy Excelian Luxoft Financial Services (ELFS).

Based in Switzerland ELFS employs around 12,900 staff across 42 cities in 21 countries, providing a range of digital services.

Investec
London-based Investec Asset Management (Investec) has appointed Lerong Kang to the newly-created position of head of advisor, Southeast Asia.

Based in Singapore, she will be responsible for managing and driving Investec’s advisory business in the region, the company said in a statement. Kang was previously an executive director at UBS Private Bank Wealth Management for over five years, where she developed strategies and drove sales in China.

Allianz
Basim El-Shoura has joined Allianz Global Investors as regional sales manager. El-Shoura, who joins from Allfunds Bank, will be covering the South of England and the Channel Islands.

This latest appointment “helps to further strengthen AllianzGI’s presence in the UK market, where the firm has recently introduced an innovative new performance fee model for the retail market,” the company said in a statement. El-Shoura will report to Adam Gent, Head of wholesale and retail sales, UK and Northern Europe.
