Bupa Global, the international health insurance arm of Bupa, has appointed Angus Slater to general manager, Bupa Global Asia Pacific.
The international health and medical insurance specialists, said in a statement announcing the move, that new role will see the company bid to bring together Bupa Global’s teams in Greater China and South East Asia, to help “deliver a more regional approach” to both new product design and sales across the region.
In his new role, Slater will focus on establishing broker relationships in the Asia Pacific region working alongside Bupa Global, Bupa Hong Kong and Quality HealthCare, Hong Kong’s largest private clinic network.
Slater had been leading the Bupa Global Greater China region on an interim basis since February, whilst also maintaining his role of sales and commercial director for Bupa Hong Kong. Prior to this, he was was marketing director for Bupa Global based in London.
Sheldon Kenton, Bupa Global Managing Director, called Slater an “experienced and well-established leader”, with strong knowledge, relationships and a “great understanding” of Bupa’s operations in the Asia Pacific regions.
Bupa Global is the international health insurance arm of Bupa with offices around the world including London and Brighton (UK), Miami (USA), Copenhagen (Denmark), Dubai (UAE, in partnership with OIC), and Hong Kong (China) as well as regional offices in Mainland China, Singapore, Egypt, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Brazil, Panama, Guatemala and Ecuador.
