StanChartered’s private banking CEO to leave in May

Standard Chartered’s private banking and commercial banking CEO Anna Marrs has confirmed she is leaving the group at the end of May to join another financial services company.

Since 2016, Marrs has also held the role of regional CEO for Asean and South Asia (ASA) – a role she was due to relinquish later this year to Standard Chartered Singapore’s CEO Judy Hsu.

Marrs joined Standard Chartered in 2012 and has held several roles within the bank. She will take up a new position with a rival financial services company in London in September.

Standard Chartered released a statement explaining that Jiten Arora, regional head of commercial banking for Asean and South Asia, will take interim responsibility for the commercial banking business. A permanent CEO is to be appointed at a later date.
