Switzerland’s EFG Asset Management has appointed Rebekah Chuan chief executive and head of investments of its Singapore operations, as part of its “ongoing development in Asia”.
Chuan will be based in Singapore, and will be responsible for developing the company’s investment products range, supported by the asset management company’s local team.
Chuan comes to EFGAM from DBS, where she was involved in building the company’s discretionary portfolio management platform over the past five years.
Previous roles during her 27-year investment industry experience have included a 10-year stint as the Singapore-based head of discretionary at HSBC (Suisse) Private Bank, and before that, senior roles at Newton Investment Management, AXA Asset Management and Aviva Investors. EFGAM said in a statement announcing her appointment.
EFGAM didn’t immediately say who, if anyone, Chuan succeeds in her new role.
Moz Afzal, global chief investment officer for EFGAM, noted that Chuan was joining the company as it has been adopting a “contra-cycle view of increasing our investment talent in Asia across fixed income, equities and portfolio management”.
