BNP Paribas
BNP Paribas Asset Management has announced Jane Ambachtsheer (pictured) as global head of sustainability. In her new roleJane Ambachtsheer BNP Paribas, Ambachtsheer will be responsible for BNP AM’s overarching approach to sustainability.

She will lead on sustainability-related research, environmental social & governance integration, engagement, advocacy and governance.

Ambachtsheer has spent over 20 years in the investment industry and was previously partner and chair of responsible investment at Mercer.

Martin Currie
Martin Currie, the active equity specialist, has hired Paul Sloane as portfolio manager for its Global Emerging Markets (GEMs) team.

Sloane rejoins the company, after working at Martin Currie for 14 years, most recently as co-manager of Martin Currie’s global alpha strategy. He will join on 13th August and take on coverage of the financials sector. This appointment follows four key strategic hires at the firm since the turn of the year, including the appointment of Zehrid Osmani from Blackrock as head of the global long term unconstrained team and Julian Ide as head of distribution and strategy.

RBC Wealth Management
RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, has named Michael Reed as its new head of wealth management for South-East Asia.

Toronto-based RBC wealth management (RBC) promoted Reed as head of wealth management, Southeast Asia and chief executive, RBC Singapore branch. In the new role he will also head RBC wealth management Asia’s client and business development, and the Hong Kong trust company.

Mobius
Mobius Capital Markets has appointed Fergus Argyle as senior investment analyst. He was previously working as senior analyst at Somerset for four years covering all markets and regions but with a focus on North Asia, Korea and the technology sector.

The firm is preparing to launch an open-ended SICAV, subject to regulator approval, that will hold no more than 30 best ideas, with a focus on small and mid caps. As a result, it will be capped at $1bn and has already been seeded by the partners and selected investors.

Ogier
Ogier law firm has hired senior litigator advocate Rebecca McNulty. She joins the dispute resolution team in Jersey as a managing associate.

Experienced in commercial litigation, contentious trust, regulatory work, property related disputes and insurance litigation including high value personal injury and professional indemnity claims in particular, McNulty brings 15 years’ experience to the team headed by partner Nick Williams.
