Old Mutual International link up targets int’l structured products investors

Old Mutual International has launched a series of new structured products link ups with third parties to serve the international investor marketplace.

The new initiative will provide international advisers and clients with access to structured products which meet set criteria regarding “transparency, simplicity and value”, according to a statement released by the company today. The new third party structured products will be selected by the firm and then distributed through Old Mutual International.

BNP Paribas has been working closely with Old Mutual International and will be the first provider to launch a structured product range which meets the new criteria. BNP Paribas has developed a product range, called Committed to The Future (CTF) Investments, specifically designed for the offshore advisory market. The CTF offering is available to new investments from today

Old Mutual International, part of Old Mutual Wealth, hopes that the initiative help change the perception of structured products as often being seen as at the riskier end of the investment scale and help create a “new breed” of products across the marketplace.

Portfolio bond

The new structured products will be available through Old Mutual International’s portfolio bond in the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, and the Far East.

Prakash Chandramohan, head of product for OMI, said that the company is playing an active role in supporting international advisers through its ‘Future Fit’ programme for advisers and that the new product fits with this initiative.

Chandramohan hopes that the criteria that these new products meet will “set a new benchmark for the structured products industry in international markets”.
