Singapore’s PIAS names 1st ‘partnership head’

Professional Investment Advisory Services Pte Ltd, one of Singapore’s largest financial advisory firms, has named its first-ever head of partnership, as it looks to expand its “product and partnership” strategy in the insurance, investment and wealth management areas, as well as in its operational business.

The new PIAS head of partnership, Soh Yeow Liang, pictured, most recently been head of partnership distribution at Tokio Marine, the Tokyo-based insurance group. There he was responsible for the formulation and implementation of channel strategy for IFA, bancassurance and international brokers in the high net worth category.

According to a statement announcing Soh’s appointment, in all he has had more than 12 years of experience in the insurance and banking industries. The statement says he also has an MBA from the University of Leicester, and is a Certified Financial Consultant.

PIAS, a subsidiary of UK-based Aviva, was established in 2001, and is headed up by chief executive Christopher Teo. It looks after expatriates as well as Singaporean clients, according to its website.
