NOW: Pensions launches green bonds to diversified growth fund

NOW: Pensions,  a UK provider of workplace pension products, has introduced a range of green bonds into its  diversified growth fund, as a part of what it says is its ongoing commitment to socially responsible investment.

The fund now has approximately 13% of total assets under management invested in green bonds, the company said in a statement.

Green bonds provide capital for projects that have to do with environmental and climate protection aims.

According to the company, it has thus far has made investments in green bonds issued by such providers as KfW, the European Investment Bank and the French government, denominated in pounds sterling, US dollars and euros, for maximum portfolio diversification.

NOW: Pensions trustee director Win Robbins stressed the joint benefits that investing in Now: Pensions’ green bonds can deliver: finanial returns while also benefiting “society as a whole”.
