MBMG author-in-residence steps back
David Shelters, a member of the corporate advisory team of Bangkok-based expat advisory specialist MBMG Group, is stepping back from his full-time role there, but will continue with the company as an external consultant, following the publication of a book on technology start-ups.
Shelters’ book, his second, is called Bootstrapping Strategies for Tech Start-ups, and is available on Amazon.
His first book was Start-Up Guide for the Technopreneur (pictured above, along with the author). The subtitle was “Financial Planning, Decision Making and Negotiating from Incubation to Exit”.
According to MBMG managing director Paul Gambles, Shelters has recently been “inundated with speaking and lecturing requests”, in connection with his books, and other interests, and thus is unable to devote as much time as he would have to if he stayed in a full-time capacity at MBMG.
Shelters’ main areas of expertise include tech, biotech, crowdfunding, co-working, entrepreneurship, SMEs and related subjects, according to Gambles.
Shelters is due to moderate a discussion on the topic “Why some start-ups succeed while others fail” at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club in Bangkok on 18 February. The event is being sponsored by BNOW, a Bangkok networking group.
MBMG was established in 1996, and provides corporate advisory, legal and accounting advice and services to individuals and businesses, as well as a family office consultancy and a Thai SEC-licensed investment business.
