Morgan Stanley creates senior digital role
Morgan Stanley has named Naureen Hassan as “chief digital officer” of its entire wealth management arm.
In this newly-created role, Hassan will be in charge of the marketing and strategy of the group’s digital tools and platforms for its 16,000 financial advisers, the company said in a statement.
Hassan was previously at Charles Schwab & Co, where she was executive vice president of investment services segments and platforms.
Hassan’s appointment comes as wealth management companies across the world are boosting the digital side of their businesses. Jim Rosenthal, Morgan Stanley’s chief operating officer, said Hassan’s “record of successful innovation”, in the area of “bringing exceptional digital resources to financial advisers and clients”, would boost Morgan Stanley’s ability to compete for high net worth clients today “as well as those emerging in the next generation”.
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s business includes brokerage and investment advisory services, financial and wealth planning, banking services, annuities and insurance, retirement and trust services. It’s an arm of Morgan Stanley Inc, the New York Stock Exchange listed financial services company.
