Allianz Worldwide Care unveils new product range for IGO employees

Allianz Worldwide Care, the Paris-based, globally-focused health and life insurance division of Germany’s Allianz Group, is launching a new international health insurance product range it says is specifically designed to meet the needs of small- to medium-sized inter-governmental organisations (IGOs), or those with between 10 and 300 employees.

The new International Health Insurance Plans for Intergovernmental Organisations will enable small- to medium-sized IGOs to provide “comprehensive international health insurance to their staff members”, Allianz Worldwide Care said, in a statement announcing the introduction of the new product.

Among the new product’s features:

• Three interchangeable levels of cover to suit different budgets and needs

• A “dedicated IGO support team”

• Simple and convenient pricing structure

•  Potential access, as needed, to any of more than 750,000 medical providers around the world

• Coverage provided on a “medical history disregarded” (MHD) basis

• 24/7 medical advice, as well as a 24/7 multilingual helpline and emergency assistance line

• Superior service and response times

• A system for submitting medical claims via the company’s so-called My Health app

Hendrik Boelens, head of IGO, NGO and Governmental Business at Allianz Worldwide Care, said the company, which has had a long history in providing international health insurance to IGOs,  had taken on board the “complex internal and external challenges that some IGOs face”, as well as their need for a “fully transparent approach when it comes to reporting”.

“We recognised a need for a product that simplified the process for both the employer and staff member,” he added.

“Often smaller IGOs do not have a dedicated HR team, or the resources to address and investigate every element of international health insurance for their staff members. Likewise, staff being sent abroad for work have several different stress factors when it comes to a major relocation.

“Having easy access to health and wellbeing support for them and their families, is one thing we want to make sure they don’t have to worry about.”
