Eaton Vance raids Fidelity for global high yield hire

Eaton Vance Management International Ltd has named Fidelity International’s Clifton Bowie ‘Bo’ Hunt to its global high yield team.

Hunt joins EVMI, a subsidiary of Eaton Vance Management, with immediate effect as vice president, global high yield analyst, reporting to Jeffrey Mueller, vice president, high yield portfolio manager, the firm said in a statement.

Hunt will be based in London and will have responsibility for analysing and evaluating the creditworthiness of high yield bond issuers and making investment recommendations. His role is a new one specially created for him to build out the global high yield team in London, a spokesperson for the firm said.

Earlier this year, Eaton Vance lowered the management fees and agreed to cap the total expense ratio of Eaton Vance International (Ireland) U.S. High Yield Bond Fund as it looks to enhance its high yield and broader fixed income offerings to the European market and beyond.

At Fidelity International Hunt served most recently as a credit analyst in the firm’s fixed income division. Prior to joining Fidelity, Hunt was a stressed/distressed credit analyst within the Global Credit & Special Situations Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York.

He previously held credit analyst roles at Petsky Prunier LLC and Rothschild Inc. He graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science in economics.

Investment Association

In its statement, Eaton Vance also announced its membership with The Investment Association, a  trade organisation that represents the interests of UK investment managers and investors.

Eaton Vance is a global asset manager whose history dates to 1924. With offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, Eaton Vance and its affiliates manage US$336.4bn in assets as at 31 October.
