Guernsey’s Heritage adds portfolio service to alt funds

Guernsey and Malta-based fund administration and fiduciary specialists Heritage International Fund Managers (HIFM) is to offer portfolio and risk management services for alternative investment funds within its Manco solution.

Heritage said that it has added this service as it “meets a growing demand” from funds marketing into the EU via National Private Placement Regimes. Firms that use Heritage as Manco rather than creating an in house capability, can potential lower costs associated with the necessary administration.

Kevin Smith, a director at HIFM, said: “Alternative Investment Funds and promoters are increasingly keen to outsource their risk management and AIFM requirements to experienced third parties, as regulations are becoming more complex and stringent.

‘Effective segregation’

“By appointing HIFM as AIFM an investment adviser can create an effective segregation between portfolio and risk management freeing up time and resources to concentrate solely on their core competencies.”

The updated Heritage Manco and Risk Management Services offering will help alternative investment funds meet the requirements of the AIFMD and provide a “broad range” of risk management services including the set up, monitoring and reporting to the Alternative Investment Fund and required authorities, HIFM said.

HIFM is licensed by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission to provide investment management services to specialist financial and insurance services to corporate and private clients around the globe.

Heritage Financial Services Group has offices in the UK, Guernsey and Malta and is focussed on providing professional fund administration and depositary services to funds. In addition, the group provides corporate and fiduciary services.
