Aberdeen Standard launch China bond fund

Aberdeen Standard Investments has announced the launch of a new China bond fund – the Aberdeen Global China Onshore Bond Fund.

The Luxembourg-domiciled China onshore bond fund has been set up to target international investors. The UCITS fund is aiming to offer investors attractive yield and low correlation and will seek to invest in liquid government securities and investment-grade corporate bonds in the mainland Chinese bond market.

The new fund, which will be available for professional investors in Asia, will initially be registered for sale in Luxembourg and Italy, with the intention of further registration in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland, a spokesman confirmed.

The fund will be managed by Aberdeen Standard’s 20-strong Asian fixed income team, the company said. Aberdeen Standard has been investing in the Chinese bond market for many years for its regional fixed income portfolios.
