People Moves: BNY Mellon, Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Commonfund, Nuveen, Schroders

BNY Mellon

BNY Mellon has appointed Catherine M. Keating as chief executive of BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Keating will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the $246bn wealth management arm of the US-listed bank.

Since February 2015, Keating most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Commonfund, a non-profit, global institutional asset manager serving endowments, foundations and public sector investors. Previously, Keating enjoyed nearly two decades of experience at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Keating succeeds Don Heberle who left BNY in March.

 

Columbia Threadneedle Investments

Columbia Threadneedle Investments has appointed Victor Rozental as sales director nordics (Wholesale), based in Stockholm. Victor will join on 25 June 2018 and will be responsible for promoting Columbia Threadneedle’s range of funds and capabilities to wholesale clients in the Nordics region.

He will work closely with Ulrik Oxfeldt, who heads up Nordic distribution for institutional clients. Victor will report to Gary Collins, Columbia Threadneedle’s head of wholesale distribution, EMEA and Latin America.

Victor Rozental said: “I am very happy to join Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a leading asset management house with world-class investment products. I am looking forward to increasing the company’s relations with the biggest Nordics distribution platforms and expanding our footprint with the Scandinavian distributors working closely with Ulrik Oxfeldt.”

Rozental joins from Schroders Investment Management, where he spent eight years. His latest position was client director for the Swedish institutional and intermediary markets.

Commonfund

Commonfund has named Mark Anson as chief executive and president of the $25bn Connecticut asset manager. Mark Anson is currently the chief investment officer, the chairman of the boards of Commonfund Capital and Commonfund Asset Management Company. Previously, he was the president and chief investment officer for the Bass Family Office, which was recognized as Family Office of the Year for 2014 and 2015.

Nuveen

Nuveen has announced Rune Sanbeck as head of international advisory services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a new role at the $940bn US asset manager. Sanbeck will lead Nuveen’s strategy to deliver the firm’s asset management expertise and solutions to clients across the EMEA region. He reports to John Panagakis, Nuveen’s global head of international advisory services, and is based in the firm’s London offices. He was previously at Dimensional Fund Advisors.

Schroders

Schroders has named Patrick O’Sullivan as a strategist in the solutions arm of the $605bn UK-listed asset manager.  He will work with clients globally, with a particular focus on Schroders’ cashflow driven-investment (CDI) strategies alongside senior strategist Jon Exley. He will report into Neil Walton, head of investment solutions.

He was previously a portfolio strategist at JP Morgan Asset Management for two years where he also focused on developing CDI solutions. Prior to this, Patrick was a lecturer at the University of Southampton and he has also worked at the Bank of Ireland in their global markets department.
