People Moves: AIG Life, Franklin Templeton, Phoenix Group

AIG Life & Retirement
American International Group (AIG) has appointed Adam Winslow as chief executive of its AIG Life & Retirement division.

Winslow is currently CEO of AIG Life (UK) and will now also assume responsibility for Laya Healthcare in Ireland. He has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry across both life and general insurance in France, South Africa and the UK. Before joining AIG, he led both the life retail and partnerships businesses at Aviva.

Wise Funds
Wise Funds, the Oxfordshire-based investment management group, has hired fund manager Philip Matthews. He previously spent five years at Schroders and managed the group’s UK Alpha Plus Fund and UK Growth Trust.

Matthews has almost two decades of investment experience, after joining Jupiter Asset Management’s fund management department in 1999. He began managing both retail and UK institutional portfolios in 2001 and ran the Jupiter Growth & Income Fund and served as deputy fund manager of the Jupiter Income Trust.

Phoenix Group
Phoenix Group has named the executives who will run its enlarged business when it completes the purchase of Standard Life’s pensions and insurance division.

Susan McInnes, the chief risk officer at Phoenix, is being appointed as the chief executive of Standard Life Assurance and will be based at its headquarters in Edinburgh. Jonathan Pears, currently chief risk officer at Standard Life, will replace McInnes as Phoenix Group chief risk officer.

State Street
Asset manager State Street Global Advisors has named Marcus Miholich as managing director and head of capital markets for Emea and Apac, effective immediately.

Miholich will continue to be based in London and report to Tim Coyne, global head of Capital Markets for the Global SPDR business.

Franklin Templeton
Franklin Templeton , the $732bn Californian asset manager has announced Jennifer Ockwell as head of UK Institutional, where she will be responsible for institutional sales and client service in the UK.

Ockwell will be based in its London office and report to UK Country Head Martyn Gilbey, Franklin Templeton’s said. She previously served in the same role at Janus Henderson.
