Phil Oxenham departs Old Mutual Wealth
Phil Oxenham, a long-time employee of Old Mutual International, part of Old Mutual Wealth (previously Skandia international), has left the company, International Investment has confirmed.
His various duties as head of proposition marketing at Old Mutual International are being assumed by different people at the company, one of whom is head of international marketing Karen Blatchford (pictured). Blatchford joined Old Mutual Wealth in November of last year, from Legal & General Investment Management, where she had been sales and marketing director, with responsibility for LGIM’s retail investment proposition.
In a statement, Old Mutual Wealth said Oxenham had left “to look for opportunities outside the business” after having “helped to develop a strong international proposition”.
Oxenham joined Skandia International in July, 2007, in a marketing role, and was commercial development and investment proposition manager before being appointed head of proposition marketing in October 2012.
As reported in the April issue of International Investment, Old Mutual Wealth’s parent, British-South African life insurance giant Old Mutual, announced earlier this year that it would be breaking up into four parts, in an effort to “unlock value currently trapped within the Group structure”.
One of the four units due to be separated out would be Old Mutual Wealth, which in recent years has acquired a number of financial advisory firms, including Intrinsic, in February 2014, and, in March, AAM Advisory, an expat-focused, Singapore-based entity.
