HSBC Private Banking UK revamps international team

HSBC Private Banking has ramped up its offer for international clients in London, whether non-domiciled UK residents or overseas investors.

Annerien Hurter joins HSBC as desk head, UK International, from JP Morgan where she spent seven years, latterly as an executive director. Prior to that, she was a senior private banker for the US bank, and has also held positions at Citi Private Bank and UBS, specialising in lending.

She will report to UK market head Charles Boulton, who says: “Annerien has an in-depth knowledge of the needs of UK resident non-domiciled clients, and a great track record both of delivering for her clients and as a team leader.”

At the same time, HSBC said that it is targeting business from clients based in central and eastern Europe with the appointment of Nikolai Baev, who started his career working with private clients in Russia; he joins HSBC from Societe Generale Private Banking Hambros (SG Hambros) London team.

The HSBC Private Banking London operation that looks after clients in the Middle East and North Africa has three new relationship managers: Monica Thomas, previously investor relations director at RiverRock Capital, who is trilingual in French, Arabic and English; Amit Ganatra, previously associate director at UBS; and Sherif Atef, previously a London-based director for SAMBA Financial Group.
